Martin Cohen is co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Cohen & Steers, Inc., which he established with his colleague, Mr. Robert Steers, in 1986. The firm is considered a pioneer in real estate securities investment and is now a leading global investment manager specializing in Real Estate Investment Trusts, international real estate securities, preferred stocks, utilities and large cap value stocks. It serves individual and institutional investors through a wide range of open-end funds, closed-end funds and separate accounts. The company maintains offices in New York, Seattle, Brussels, London and Hong Kong. Cohen & Steers is a New York Stock Exchange listed company (CNS).

Mr. Cohen received a Bachelor of Science degree from the City College of New York and worked as a biochemist before attending New York University where he earned an MBA degree. In 2006, City College awarded him the Townsend Harris Medal for Post-Graduate Excellence. In 2008, he was presented New York University's Award for Innovation and Excellence in the REIT Industry.

Mr. Cohen is considered to be one of the nation's leading experts in real estate securities investment. He is often interviewed and lectures frequently on the subject. In 2001, he was the recipient of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts Industry Achievement Award.

Robert Steers is co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Cohen & Steers, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange listed company (CNS). Established in 1986, the firm is a leading global investment manager specializing in REITs, large cap, dividend growth and utility portfolios. The firm serves individual and institutional investors through a wide range of open-end funds, closed-end funds and separate accounts. From 1984 to 1986, Mr. Steers was a Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of National Securities and Research Corporation where he chaired both the Investment Policy and Stock Selection Committees. In 1985, while at National Securities, he organized and launched the nation’s first real estate securities mutual fund.

From 1977 to 1982, Mr. Steers served as a securities analyst and Vice President / Portfolio Manager of Citibank’s Emerging Growth Stock Fund.

Mr. Steers holds a BS degree from Georgetown University and MBA degree from George Washington University. He lives in Rye, New York, with his wife and four children.
