Financial Writer

The Financial Writer is responsible for the writing and editing of the company’s investment commentaries, product information, sales support materials and global Web site content.


Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a 4-yr college degree and a minimum of 7-10 years financial writing experience. Candidates must possess strong interviewing skills as well as the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel in a fast-paced environment. Senior Fund Administrator

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Provide portfolio accounting, administration and reconciliation support for the registered mutual funds.
  • Daily maintenance of ePam accounting system related to all fund activity. This includes recording all trading activity, dividends & income, expenses, capital flows, etc. It also includes Security Master set-up for new securities, corporate action processing and daily troubleshooting of issues/questions.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly oversight checklists. This includes a daily cash reconciliation and position & market value reconciliation vs. the accounting agent.
  • Coordinate receipt of all daily broker prices for manually priced securities.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements.
  • Preparation and review of certain financial data contained in prospectus and SAI updates.
  • Preparation of fund expense analysis and liability roll forwards.
  • Review of monthly & quarterly SEC and IRC compliance.
  • Preparation of daily fund rankings.
  • Preparation of daily fund flows.
  • Preparation of daily leverage analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly board materials.
  • Preparation of other financial reports for various groups within the firm.
  • Review of asset based fees (i.e. management fees, administrator fees, 12b-1 and service fees) on a monthly basis.
  • Special projects, as requested.



Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in mutual fund accounting and administration.
  • Basic understanding of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and Regulation S/X and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Basic understanding of RIC taxes.
  • Basic understanding of various securities and derivative products.
  • Multi-currency accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of portfolio accounting systems, preferred.
  • Proficiency with advanced functions of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access a plus
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus

Assistant

Assist Chief Operating Officer and Director of Product Development on variety of projects / some administrative responsibilities
  • Work on special Excel based projects for Head of Product Development which will require strong Excel modeling skills
  • Set up pitch books and work with graphics team to expedite
  • Work with COO on soft-dollar tracking of invoices
  • Track, categorize and prepare various budget reports
  • Coordinate Internal and External meetings preparation. Includes calendar set-up/management, agenda and material organization, appropriate catering when needed as well as a room set up and distribution.

    Requirements
  • 1-2 years experience in financial services firm.
  • Must have working knowledge of various financial securities/instruments
  • BA/BS degree, preferred.
  • Advanced MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required, experience with Concur Expense System a plus.
  • Forward thinking and has the ability to anticipate and act upon requests independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
